In a world where English-medium education often dominates, Sahityarathi Jatiya Vidyalaya, established in 2018, took up a joyful challenge — to promote and nurture education through the mother tongue, Assamese.
When the journey began, many questioned the decision. “Are you educating your children in the Assamese medium?” they asked. Even those who spoke passionately about their land and culture hesitated to enroll their children in an Assamese-medium school.
But today, Sahityarathi Jatiya Vidyalaya has given a strong and proud answer through the outstanding performance of its students in the Class X board examinations! Under the able guidance of highly qualified teachers, the school achieved a 100% pass rate. Among the 12 students who appeared for the exams:
1 student secured Distinction
2 students earned Star Marks
17 subjects achieved Letter Marks
This success is not just academic — it symbolizes the faith, courage, and strength of the 12 parents who believed in the power of mother tongue education.
Speaking on this proud moment, Dr. Satyakam Barthakur said,
“I say with conviction that the mother tongue medium is the most suitable for education up to the higher secondary level. If Assamese is to survive, we must keep the Assamese medium alive.”
